Walk Under Pressure – Pantera/Queen Mashup

This is an unlikely mashup that sounds surprisingly good. Someone took the vocals from Pantera’s ‘Walk’ and put it over Queen’s Under ‘Pressure’. The result sounds interesting and not altogether unpleasant.

Pantera is probably best known for guitarist Darrell Abbott aka Dimebag Darrell. During a show with his then current band, Damageplan, Dimebag was shot and killed on stage December 8th 2004. The gunmen killed three other people that night before being shot and killed by local police in Columbus, Ohio. Pantera also consisted of singer Phil Anselmo, Drummer & Dimebag’s brother – Vinnie Paul and Bass player Rex Brown. The surviving members of Pantera have all gone on to start new bands. Vinnie Paul is currently touring with his band Hell Yeah.

Queen is a much mellower band when compared to Pantera. Queen had a long string of hits in the 80’s that include: Another One Bites the Dust, Under Pressure and Bohemian Rhapsody to name just a few. Considered one of the best singers of that generation, Freddy Mercury’s vocals along with Brian May’s unique guitar work created a sound that is still unrivaled.

On the surface, these two wildly different bands wouldn’t seem even a little bit compatible. This mashup does a great job of exploring the unique sound of these two iconic bands fused together. Give it a listen and let us know what you thought.
