The Scio Solar Eclipse Celebration Still Has Camping Available!

Our friends in Scio, Oregon are putting on an event – The Scio Solar Eclipse Celebration at Eastman Farms. Having visited the location many times, I can tell you this will be one of the best places to view the 2017 Oregon solar eclipse. Eastman Farms is located in the center of the path of totality… they are going to experience 1 minute and 58 seconds of complete eclipse.

They have festivities planned that include camping, refreshments, live music, hiking on over 40 acres of forested hills, they’re dog friendly and have fun planned for the kids. If you are looking for a place to view the Oregon eclipse. This is it! And as the headline states… somehow, they still have camping and RV spaces available. And as a bonus! They are only about 10 minutes off of I-5.

As stated before, Scio, Oregon is in the center of the path of totality. The last time full solar eclipse hit the US was 1979. This is a once in a lifetime event nobody wants to miss! Scio, Oregon is in the center of the path of totality for this year’s solar eclipse. The Oregon solar eclipse will start at 9:05 am and reach totality at 10:17 am on Monday August 21st 2017. Full totality will last for 1 minute and 58 seconds. It was during full totality that Einstein’s theory of relativity was proven years ago. Scientists on the ground were able to see the gravitational lensing predicted by Einstein’s theory as the light of stars behind the sun, which shouldn’t have been visible, bent around to be photographed.
