Artist Spotlight – Ewan Dobson

Since we love guitar players so much, we decided we were going to start doing an artist spotlight to shine a light on the variety of incredible guitar players out there. As a result of digging through the net we found this guy. This first spotlight features Canadian guitarist, Ewan Dobson. Why this guy? Because, his unique playing and attire set him apart. Below is an excerpt from his bio followed by one hell of a cool song. Check it out! Maybe, you’ll like him as much as we do.

Ewan Dobson has established himself as one of Canada’s most accomplished guitarists. He won first prize in nearly every classical guitar competition across the country. Furthermore, his list of credentials includes taking first place in both the Burlington Rotary Fall Music Festival and the Pickering Rotary Music Festival. In the summer of 2009, he was crowned the Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Champion.

The development of Ewan Dobson into the artist that he is today has been an eclectic journey to say the least. Ewan began playing heavy metal and hard rock on his first electric guitar. Dobson has expanded his repertoire to include Bluegrass, Metal, Canadian folk, Techno and more. The culmination of all of these diverse influences has fueled his musical creativity and succeeded in making him the captivating artist he is today.

In September and October of 2010, Dobson hit the road with fellow guitar virtuoso Antoine Dufour for his first Canadian tour that featured the legendary Don Ross.

After racking up 10 million YouTube views in 2011, Ewan Dobson released his third CD in three years to satisfy what had become an international army of devoted fans.
